Ficinia nodosa, commonly known as Knobby Club Rush, is a tough, upright perennial sedge native to the Melbourne Sandbelt region. Growing to a height of 50-100 cm (1.5-3 feet), it features slender, dark green stems with small, rounded flower heads that appear year-round, with peak blooming in spring and summer.
This hardy sedge thrives in well-drained soils and can tolerate both full sun and partial shade, as well as coastal conditions. Ficinia nodosa is ideal for native gardens, wetland areas, and coastal landscapes, offering erosion control and providing habitat for local wildlife. Its striking vertical growth adds texture and structure to any garden design.
